L.E. Café Singapore is one of the most popular and reliable cakes and pastry shop in Singapore. Delivering high quality and delicious cakes and pastries for over 50 years, they are also considered to be one of the oldest cafes in the country.

The café’s most popular pastry product is “Golf Ball” pineapple tarts which they claim to be the Singapore’s 1st round pineapple tarts. The tarts are described as a buttery, crumbly pastry with moist pineapple filling.

Aside from the juiciness and deliciousness of their pineapple filling, one more thing that the café takes pride of is the fact that their products do not contain pork and lard. This is also one of the main reasons why they continue to thrive as a leading pastry and cake shop in Singapore.

History

In 1949, the first branch of L.E. Café Singapore was established at 264 Middle Road, David Elias Building. Initially, the café served Chinese food along with drinks and their traditional cakes and pastries.

In 1975, the café decided to focus on manufacturing and selling breads and cakes solely. Their menu includes chicken pie, apple strudel, swiss rolls, cream puffs, buttercreams, and teas.

In 1990, they decided to turn the café into a takeaway shop. It is also during this time that they decided to introduce their trademark “Golf Ball” Pineapple Tart.

Their clientele grew bigger and bigger, so they decided to open two more branches (Cambridge and Veersamy Road)  in 2009.

In 2018, they decided to leave their first home and relocated to their third branch in Mackenzie Road.
